The Mac I reviewed it on was a 1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac mini with 1 GB of RAM and an 80GB internal hard drive running OS 10.5.6. My main project folder (I gave the statistics earlier) took 3 minutes and 52 seconds to scan a sub-folder with 10,500 files (1 GB total) took a mere 45 seconds. This folder and all of its sub-folders will be searched. The process of using Decloner is simple enough: one simply launches the application, and then chooses the folder to search through. Decloner uses the SHA-1 algorithm to compare the contents of files, even if they have different names. Thus, Decloner can scan the directory where all of these files are and alert me of the duplicates.
Since these files have come from all sorts of locations, there are bound to be duplicates. A project I'm working on, Mac GUI Vault, currently involves 27,000 files taking up about 7.2 GB of space on my Mac. If you've got many thousands of files on your Mac and you're paranoid about duplicates like I am, then Decloner is the near-perfect solution for weeding out the duplicates.
